Introduction

Winning Best Delegate at Model United Nations (MUN) was more than a trophy—it was a masterclass in communication that now drives my leadership as CEO of PurpleRain TechSafe and Co-Founder of CodeQuestt Hackathon. From negotiating global policies to leading tech teams in Chandigarh and Los Angeles, I’ve applied MUN-honed skills to inspire and innovate. In this post, I share how MUN shaped my tech leadership, key communication strategies, and tips for aspiring leaders. Whether in tech or diplomacy, these skills will help you win.

MUN: A Training Ground for Leadership

MUN simulates global diplomacy, requiring research, debate, and collaboration. As a Best Delegate winner, I learned to articulate ideas, negotiate, and lead diverse teams—skills I now use to manage HackSkye Hackathon and Maximally’s financial operations. My multilingual abilities (Hindi, Punjabi, English) enhanced my ability to connect with diverse stakeholders.

Communication Skills from MUN

1. Active Listening

MUN taught me to listen before speaking, ensuring I understand team needs at PurpleRain TechSafe.

Tip: Practice active listening by summarizing others’ points before responding.

2. Persuasive Communication

Convincing MUN delegates mirrors pitching sponsors for HackSkye (INR 4 lakh raised). Clarity and confidence are key.

Tip: Use storytelling to make technical pitches engaging.

3. Conflict Resolution

Resolving MUN debates prepared me to mediate team disputes at CodeQuestt.

Tip: Stay neutral and focus on shared goals to resolve conflicts.

4. Public Speaking
